Staff Accountant needed in McMinnville, OR Job DescriptionPlacement Type: Contract to Hire or DP

Location: McMinnville, OR

Pay Rate: $62k – $67K

Remote: Hybrid 3 Days in (M/T and 3rd open) – 2 Days WFH – First 90 days in office

• Prepares monthly account reconciliations, and researches general ledger account issues.
• Average 40 bank reconciliation monthly
• Working w/ a team to support accounting for 10 properties
• Supports the preparation of financial statements for each of our legal entities on a timely basis and in accordance with GAAP guidelines..
• Processes and records electronic bank transactions.

Formal Job DescriptionAt The Springs Living, the Staff Accountant supports accurate and timely financial statement reporting in accordance with GAAP guidelines. This position requires knowledge of basic accounting principles and problem solving and critical thinking skills. It works closely with the other members of the accounting team, human resources, and the business office managers at the communities. Responsibilities Include

• Prepares monthly account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepares and posts journal entries to record accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP, including full documentation.
• Records and reconciles intercompany transactions.
• Maintains depreciation, amortization, prepaid and accrual schedules.
• Researches and reconciles general ledger account issues.
• Processes electronic bank transactions.
• Continually looks for and implements process improvements.
• Ensures supervisor is regularly and promptly informed of work status and any issues for which guidance is necessary.
• Completes projects as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• 1 year related accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge and application of accounting principles and functions, including a full understanding of GAAP
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with team members, peers, and management
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision, but asking questions as needed
• Attention to detail
