Tips to Make Homemade Gingerbread Cookies

  1. Rather than killing yourself decorating cookies, particularly if you're just having them at home, just dust the tops of the cookies with powdered sugar.
  2. If you're not wanting to make cut cookies, but just balls, you can skip the chilling step altogether. The reason you need the chill is to stop the cookie from spreading too much while it initially heats. But if you're just doing ball cookies, it doesn't matter if they spread a bit.
  3. Will this recipe work for a gingerbread house? Yes. unequivocally, it's perfect for a gingerbread house. So, grab a cookie cutter set for that here and get to baking!
