    1. Shipping Speed and Reliability: Consider the shipping partner's track record in terms of delivery speed and reliability. Look for information on their average transit times, on-time delivery rates, and customer reviews to ensure they can meet your shipping needs.2. Cost and Pricing Structure: Evaluate the shipping partner's pricing structure to determine if it aligns with your budget. Consider factors such as shipping rates, additional fees (e.g., fuel surcharges, residential delivery fees), and any discounts or incentives they offer for volume or regular shipments.3. Geographic Coverage: Assess the shipping partner's reach and coverage to ensure they can serve your target markets. Consider whether they have a strong network of shipping routes, distribution centers, or local partners in the regions you plan to ship to or from.4. Shipping Options and Services: Determine the range of shipping options and services provided by the partner. Consider if they offer express or expedited shipping, international shipping, specialized handling for fragile or perishable goods, tracking capabilities, and any value-added services like packaging, insurance, or returns management.5. Integration and Technology: Evaluate the shipping partner's technological capabilities and integration options. Check if they have user-friendly online platforms or APIs that can seamlessly integrate with your existing systems, allowing for easy order processing, tracking, and customer notifications.6. Customer Support: Consider the level of customer support provided by the shipping partner. Determine if they have accessible and responsive customer service channels, such as phone, email, or live chat, to assist you with any shipping-related inquiries or issues.7. Security and Insurance: Assess the shipping partner's approach to security and insurance coverage. Look for information on how they handle the protection of goods during transit, their liability for lost or damaged shipments, and if they offer additional insurance options for high-value or sensitive items.8. Scalability and Future Growth: Finally, consider whether the shipping partner can accommodate your future growth plans. Assess their capacity to handle increasing shipping volumes, flexibility in adapting to changing business needs, and ability to provide scalable solutions as your business expands.By carefully considering these factors, you can make an informed decision when choosing a shipping partner that best aligns with your business requirements and objectives. Let‘s talk about MONEY💲 Okay, not exactly money, but the price. Although it is often said that discussing the price is the final step in the sales process, let's delve into what you truly need to know about air transportation costs. 💰✈️You may already be aware that air transportation is the most expensive mode of transportation compared to others. Let's explore the reasons behind this.First, it's all about SPEED.🚀 With air transport, you can have your cargo delivered within a matter of days, although occasionally it may take up to a week depending on the specific route or service.Another crucial factor is SAFETY. 📦 Air transportation is renowned for being the safest mode of transport. Goods shipped by air undergo minimal handling due to stringent management and fast procedures. Moreover, there are considerably fewer accidents resulting in cargo loss compared to road or sea transportation. Now that we understand WHY, let‘s talk about HOW MUCH.Before COVID-19 stroke, air cargo rates typically varied between 1,50-3 USD/kg, depending on the nature of the goods and the availability of space. 2020 hit with prices reaching a range of 5-10 USD/kg. Currently, in 2023 rates have dropped to around 2-5 USD/kg, which is still higher than the pre-pandemic levels, likely influenced by increased fuel and labor expenses. The next thing you need to know is weight and volume which are key factors in air freight shipping. ⚖️ Chargeable weight is what airlines use to determine the cost of your shipment. In aviation, airfreight charges are calculated based on the actual weight or the volumetric weight, whichever is greater.Furthermore, there are additional charges to consider depending on the shipping terms. These mainly include terminal handling charges, customs brokerage, and delivery. 🛃🚚So, what's your next air shipment?✈️ Feel free to drop any questions you may have in the comments!#airfreight #shipping #wuliuair #airfreightlogistics #aircargo

Why do companies need forwarders?Through the years in transport business i realized how many people have a wrong belief that dealing with a freight-forwarder can only be good at the beginning, when you do not have a knowledge of the routes, technology and carriers involved. After series of similar shipments a Cargo-owner may decide to go with his own and benefit direct freight rates from the Carrier. Such an approach itself is not bad at all and can even be wise, but not the reasons.First and foremost who is a freight-forwarder? Once i met the meaning that i decided to keepforever as a “mission”. It is saying “a forwarding company - a company, who minimizes the risks.” Let yourself think over the phrase for a couple of moments: at first sight it sounds so indefinite, but the more you put your thoughts and experience through this - the more meaningful it becomes. What are the risks that need to be minimized? Well, there are plenty of those if you Sell or Buy something abroad:Commercial risks. This may be very versatile starting from ocean rates fluctuations or vessel demurrage at port in congestion, or not the optimal transport solution.Currency risks. E.g. container rates are usually quoted in USD, while EUR is preferable for almost the whole Europe. During an eventual passage from Shanghai to Goteborg of 35 days an exchange rate may cause fantastic losses.Safety risks refers to cargo safety during transport - damage to cargo or even lossTime risks - delays en route due to broken vehicle, accident or bad weather. Each of the above can be followed with numerous examples i as a forwarder have to face on daily basis and urge our competitors not to stow all of these on Customer’s shoulders.I do meet forwarding companies of big name who are very reluctant to take on any responsibility, simply transmitting everything from Supplier to Customer. That is not the right way it should work and should not be a value for money: A forwarder needs to reduce the Customer’s risks - that’s a true reason why companies should stay with the forwarders. To some extent it would worth to note that the risks that are minimized with the Cargo-owner are being transferred to the Forwarder. But for sure, a forwarder is by default an expert and has professional knowledge and experience to manage them properly.#logistics #export #import #trade
